Almighty God, we come to you in the Name of Jesus Christ, our King.
We thank you for this good land you have given us.
We ask that all Americans would become mindful that all we possess has come from you as a gift of mercy andcompassion, not because of our own goodness.
We have so much to be thankful for: good food, clothes, housing, freedom, clean water, safe churches, air conditioning, and warm homes in the winter. We deserve none of these luxuries.
We ask that you would give us the power to repent from our many sins.
We ask for your blessing upon that we would be a country of good and honest industry, that we would be a nation with good schools and learning.
Please save us from the violence which we ourselves have created or encouraged.
We have so much discord and confusion. Please permit us to repent from pride and arrogance. We ask that you not turn us over to our evil ways.
Please preserve our liberties and unite our people who come from many places seeking prosperity and freedom.
Please give wisdom to those you have raised up with the authority of government. That there may be justice and peace in the United States and all over the world, and that our leaders would be obedient to your law.
In the time of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, for we know these riches come only from you. And in the day of trouble — such as we have now — please do not allow our weak hearts to fail or lose our trust in your providential care.
Oh Lord, we commend the United States to Your merciful care. Please grant blessing to the President of the United States, Barack Obama; and the Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer; and our mayor, Phil Gordon, and to all in authority, including our state and US senators and all of our congressman.
Please give Your wisdom and strength to our leaders to know and to do Your will. Fill them with the love of truth and righteousness, and make them ever mindful of their calling to serve the people according to Your will.
