The following is a poem written by George B. Hardy in 1961. It serves as Forward to his book, Countdown: A Time to Choose. Unfortunately this book is out of print and as far as I know cannot be found online.
FROM THE BACK COVER: This book is an unsparing and uncompromising attempt to alert, even to jolt the reader into seeing the vital need to prepare for death and the world to come.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. – John 3:16
some are humble … some are bold
some are young … others old
some are healthy … some half-dead
NEVER, NEVER, LOOK AHEAD.
some have plenty … others none
some are bright … some are dumb
some just laugh … and others cry
LIVE, AND NEVER REASON WHY.
some are heartless … some are kind
some are loafers … others grind
some are bored … some have fun
IGNORING “ZERO” … MINUS ONE.
