by Sam Battig
What we need is not to know;
having learned to read between the lines
has only stunted growth.
It’s been all about the ladder;
Rung after rung, continue to climb;
It’s all that matters.
Relearning things that cause you to think that all that matters;
is knowing nothing matters.
From the creek to the puddle;
The war to the battle;
Keep in the saddle;
Just those eight eternal seconds;
Par for the course.
It’s all you can expect.
The cause and effect.
Stand and reflect.
WHO IS SAM BATTIG?
I met Sam at Bank of America, where he works as a teller. I see him almost every day. He is a hard worker, efficient and amicable. He is well-liked and respected by his colleagues.
I recently learned that he is an aspiring poet. He leaves his poems on the desks of his co-workers in an attempt to encourage them and brighten their day. With Sam’s permission I am posting his work for the benefit of a wider audience.
