RADIO VAULT: WARREN WIERSBE (1976) – BACK TO OUR BEGINNINGS: THE FIRST CREATION

Warren Wiersbe

In the mid 2000s I served as Director of Media Operations for The Moody Church in Chicago.  One day we were cleaning out the storeroom and I found a box of cassette tapes.  After perusing the sermon titles and dates I quickly realized that I had discovered a treasure trove of teaching from famous preachers of the past.

In an attempt to preserve these works for the benefit of future generations, I am making these classics available on the internet at no charge.  I have repaired the audio to the best of my ability using state of the art restoration technology. You are also free to copy and distribute the material to the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sermon highlights:

  • There are two creations in the Bible: 1) Creation in Genesis (material) and 2) God is building a new creation (Spiritual)
  • The better we understand Genesis 1:1, the better we understand the Christian life
  • Our salvation was ordained by God prior to the creation of the world
  • When God accomplishes something He uses the Spirit of God and the Word of God together
  • Parallels between old and new creation: a) both began with God; b) both involve the Spirit of God and the Word of God; c) both climax with God’s image; d) both creations lead to rest

I listened to this on BBNradio the other day and have listened to it again. I really would like to get a print of this sermon so that I could get some of my family to read it and that I would have it handy to read from time to time. Pastor Wiersbe explains things that make it easier for me to understand. Thank you that by posting this, I can listen to it often.
