A PERSONAL GOD, VIEWED SCIENTIFICALLY (C. 1958)

The only God in whom I can have a grain of confidence is the God of the Hebrew-Christian faith—the only personal God who could possibly be interested in each one of us on this minute speck of the universe we call Earth.

THE NATIVITY presented by JOHN FACENDA 1948 (AUDIO)

The Christmas story is beautifully narrated by John Facenda and the haunting background music adds to the wonder of the occasion.

HEROD THAT FOX (ἀλώπηξ – alopex)

When Jesus dubbed him “that fox,” the Lord was not stating that Herod Antipas possessed cunning, as is often surmised; rather, He was calling him an effeminate wild dog that feasts on dead men’s corpses

TURRETIN: WHEN WAS THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST?

FEELING GUILTY? MAYBE YOU SHOULD SEE A THEOLOGIAN OR BIBLE-BELIEVING PASTOR INSTEAD OF A PSYCHOLOGIST …

JESUS INDULGED IN IRONY AND SARDONIC SARCASM. HE OFTEN USED HYPERBOLE TO DRIVE HIS POINT HOME. JESUS WAS, IN FACT, THE MASTER SATIRIST

Jesus is not coming to judge the world in most people’s view, but that He will restore peace and love is what is emphasized. A Jesus Who threatens an entire city with “you will be brought down to Hades” does not fit the popular Jesus, friend of humanity, who forgives without measure. How could Jesus, the friendly carpenter, who had Abba as His father, judge people for mere transgressions such as coveting a few things on earth, looking at woman and lusting in their hearts for her, or judge people who are genuinely nice but are not enlightened to believe they need a Savior for their minor transgressions (after all no one is perfect).

GERSTNER: CHRIST – HIS PERSON

All men who know anything at all about Jesus Christ universally agree that He is the perfect embodiment of the human ideal. He is the supreme human being. But we must go farther than saying that …

STOTT: DID JESUS HAVE A MISTAKEN VIEW OF THE OLD TESTAMENT? (VIDEO)

The proper view of the kenosis is this: Jesus laid aside His glory in the view of men, not by lessening it, but by concealing it. – John Calvin
