TURRETIN: WHEN WAS THE BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST?

We judge the celebration of the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ to be most pious and useful, still we think the precise observance of the 25th of December rests rather upon the custom and the long practice of the church than upon any apostolic command or example.

Many Psychotherapists do not understand the human condition as much as they think. Anyone not reconciled to God through Jesus Christ really is guilty, and psychologists are causing immense harm to their patients by trying to talk them out of their guilt.

JESUS INDULGED IN IRONY AND SARDONIC SARCASM. HE OFTEN USED HYPERBOLE TO DRIVE HIS POINT HOME. JESUS WAS, IN FACT, THE MASTER SATIRIST

Jesus is not coming to judge the world in most people’s view, but that He will restore peace and love is what is emphasized. A Jesus Who threatens an entire city with “you will be brought down to Hades” does not fit the popular Jesus, friend of humanity, who forgives without measure. How could Jesus, the friendly carpenter, who had Abba as His father, judge people for mere transgressions such as coveting a few things on earth, looking at woman and lusting in their hearts for her, or judge people who are genuinely nice but are not enlightened to believe they need a Savior for their minor transgressions (after all no one is perfect).
